Jet JWDS-1836 Drum Sander

The Jet JWDS-1836 is a compact, professional-grade drum sander that delivers an extra degree of power and working width. It dramatically reduces the time and effort required to finish sand cutting boards, guitar lids, kitchen cabinets and a host of other projects after, for example, flat sanding. The infinitely variable speed control allows for an excellent finish even on the toughest wood materials.

This drum sander has features ideal for the small workshop, the instrument maker and the hobbyist who appreciates high quality. This model has a sanding width of 457mm, but thanks to its open design, you can also use it to finish boards over the drum up to 914mm by sanding both sides individually.

The patented SandSmart™ system prevents overloading of the motor and protects the piece being sanded from thermal damage. This intelligent system automatically reduces the speed of the conveyor belt or shuts it off completely, for example if the machine tries to thin too much material in one go.

Designed for ease of use the sanding belt is fast and easy to change in under 2 minutes without any tools. With the machine you can use pre-cut sanding belts or you can easily cut right size of strips from a sandpaper roll.

Comes with pre-installed P80 sanding belt, conveyor belt, stand and rubber feet.
